COSPLAY CASE STUDY · MEET THE MAKER
FRIEZA.
FROM PRINT
TO POWER.
A 3D printed helmet. Months of creativity. One unmistakable villain.
We printed the helmet for Mariah’s first-form Frieza cosplay. She took it from a raw print to the finished character.

A big silhouette.
One main print.
Frieza’s domed headpiece and long black horns are a huge part of the character’s look. Our part in Mariah’s build was the 3D printing: the main helmet shell printed in one piece, with the horns printed separately in black.
In our workshop photos, tree supports sit beneath the lower rim while the dome is left free of supports. Keeping those contact points underneath leaves less support cleanup on the most visible surface. The result was an unpainted starting point for Mariah to make her own.

The print was only
the beginning.
Mariah describes Frieza as her biggest cosplay project yet. Her build updates show the work behind that statement: making patterns, shaping armour, painting, sewing and bringing all the separate pieces together.
She sanded and painted the helmet herself, turning the raw shell into the white and metallic-purple headpiece seen in the finished cosplay. These stills from her process reel give a glimpse of the hands-on work between printer and photoshoot.

“my biggest cosplay project ever”
Mariah, describing the full build in her completion post.
Lord Frieza
has arrived.
The finished helmet becomes part of a much bigger transformation: purple and gold armour, costume details, makeup and Mariah’s performance as the character.
Her first finished self-shoot celebrated months of work. Later photos show the cosplay at FAN EXPO Chicago and in a shoot with @_drey_media. Seeing our print become part of that finished build is exactly why we love making cosplay pieces.
Our contribution was the printed helmet. The sanding, painting and complete cosplay build are Mariah’s work.

IN MARIAH’S WORDS
From print to cosplay.
“Working with Creativeparrot was an incredibly easy and fun experience. It was my first large 3D print and I didn’t know much about any of it, he was so kind to give explain to me the different options and prices and help me choose what would be best for my cosplay. I expected the process to take at least a week but from first speaking with him to my helmet being printed only took about 48 hours in total. It came out so clean that I barely had to sand it before I started painting. In the future I’m looking into other big builds and when I do he’s at the top of the list for who I’d contact!”
